The Elephant Rock Foundation was established in 2008 to support the development of young musicians and the musical arts. “With public and government funding no longer supporting art and music programs, our mission is to nurture young talent and provide them the tools they need to develop artistically,” said Michael Lee, the organization’s founder. Focusing on individuals from less privileged backgrounds, the Elephant Rock Foundation provides artists with financial grants that can be applied to education, equipment or recording time. “In addition to talent, we look for passion and commitment. These artists have the raw talent, our foundation gives them the helping hand they need to make their dreams come true,” explained Lee. A key focus of the Foundation will be the continued participation of previous grant recipients to foster and nurture the next generation through the sharing of their art, and the giving back to the Foundation financially and of their time. With a strong belief that the world is in need of more culture, Lee and the Foundation’s Board of Directors are committed to nurturing the paths of musical artists for the benefit, enjoyment and cultural development of all. “Everyone benefits when something beautiful is created,” said Lee. “I can’t wait to see what is to come.”
